Lakers Introduce Draft Picks; Russell 'Can Definitely Play' With Clarkson

EL SEGUNDO (CBSLA.com) — The newest faces on the Los Angeles Lakers made their debut in the purple and gold Monday.

Draft picks D'Angelo Russell, Larry Nance and Anthony Brown met with reporters at the Lakers training facility in El Segundo to receive their official jerseys ahead of the 2015-16 season.

Russell was the second overall pick in last week's NBA Draft after having an impressive freshman season at Ohio State, averaging just over 19 points a game.

Selected with the 27th overall pick, Nance played for Wyoming last season, where he was the Cowboys' top scorer.

Brown, a guard/forward out of Stanford, was the 34th overall pick.

When asked how he sees himself fitting into the Lakers' starting unit, Russell said that he "can definitely play with" Jordan Clarkson, and that having two ballhandlers at once "gives us the advantage."

For Brown, however, just having his name on the back of a Lakers jersey was a dream come true.

"Being a Lakers fan and having them select you — it was almost like I'm dreaming," he said.
