Lakers Move Closer To Finalizing Roster; Cut 2 Players

LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — The Los Angeles Lakers have trimmed their roster down to 17 players after cutting two players on Tuesday.

The Lakers waived center Robert Upshaw and guard Michael Frazier II.

Upshaw had played in four preseason games as well as the NBA's summer league.

The 7-foot rookie out of Washington showed promise with his shot-blocking ability, but could not win the backup center job over Robert Sacre or Tarik Black.

Frazier was an undrafted rookie out of the University of Florida, who appeared in four preseason games for Los Angeles, averaging 2.0 points per game in 13.5 minutes per game.
