Lakers' D'Angelo Russell, Julius Randle To Join US Olympic Select Team

LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — The Los Angeles Lakers' two young superstars D'Angelo Russell and Julius Randle have been chosen for the 2016 USA Men's Select Team.

The Select Team will be made up of 25 players, and will train July 18-21 with the USA Basketball Men's National Team during its training camp in Las Vegas.

Lakers Nation reporter Ryan Ward also broke the news that potential Laker Brandon Ingram was also invited to to join the Select Team this summer.

In previous years, players such as Kevin Durant, Kyrie Irving, Klay Thompson, Kevin Love, and Russell Westbrook played for the Select Team before ultimately being called up to play for the U.S. Olympic Team.

After Russell was named to the NBA All-Rookie Team this past season and Randle averaged a double-double and ranking sixth in the NBA in total rebounds, Lakers fans should have a ton of optimism to have these two chosen to such a prestigious team for the summer.
