PACIFIC PALISADES (CBSLA.com) — Paramedics were sent by helicopter Wednesday evening to Pacific Palisades, where they rescued a woman trapped in a vehicle.

The Los Angeles Fire Department dispatched an air ambulance around 6 p.m. to the 16800 block of Pacific Coast Highway and landed at a Will Rogers State Park parking lot.

They pulled a woman from a car that had been involved in a crash. It's not yet clear what caused the collision.

The woman was air-lifted to a hospital with unspecified injuries.

Meanwhile, several lanes of PCH were cordoned off for the clean-up, causing a massive backup for rush-hour commuters.
