LACoFD: Commercial Building In City Of Industry Required 'Extensive Overhaul' After 2-Alarm Fire

CITY OF INDUSTRY (CBSLA.com) — A long overhaul process was expected after crews knocked down a two-alarm fire that erupted in a commercial building in the City of Industry Friday.

Los Angeles County Fire Department personnel were called to the scene at Collwood and E. Valley Boulevard shortly after 5 p.m.

Black plumes of smoke could be seen billowing outside the structure, believed to be a warehouse containing cosmetics, for miles.

Valley Boulevard was closed from the San Gabriel River (605) Freeway to Workman Mill Road as firefighters worked to extinguish the blaze.

The fire was knocked down shortly after 8:20 p.m., according to a L.A. County Fire Department spokesperson.

A civilian was treated for burns but was not hospitalized, a fire department dispatcher told City News Service.

A spokesperson for the department said an "extensive overhaul" was expected to continue late into Friday evening.
