LA Toddler Killed By SUV At Swap Meet In Fresno County

LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — California Highway Patrol officers announced Sunday that a 2-year-old girl was killed while attending a swap meet in Fresno County yesterday morning.

According to CHP officers, officers were sent to the 6700 block of West Mount Whitney Avenue in Riverdale around 9:03 a.m. Saturday.

The toddler reportedly ran and fell in front of the left rear tire of a 1997 Toyota 4Runner, which struck her head while driving about two to three miles per hour.

Officers explained the victim was the daughter of a vendor attending the swap meet.

She was transported by helicopter to Community Regional Medical Center; however, she succumbed to injuries during the flight.

The coroner's office has not released the victim's identity. CHP officers only released that she is a Los Angeles resident.

The driver was not arrested or cited, officers explained.
