LA Residents To Celebrate Christmas Eve Through Musical Program, Church Services

LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — Residents across Los Angeles County will mark Christmas Eve on Thursday through a music and dance program, traditional Masses and church services to celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ.

From 3-6 p.m., the 56th annual Los Angeles County Holiday Celebration will be held at the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion Music Center. The event will feature 20 music ensembles, dance companies and choirs who represent various cultures from diverse communities.

Returning performers include Grammy-nominated Mariachi Reyna de Los Angeles, the choral music ensemble the Albert McNeil Jubliee Singers, the Invertigo Dance Theatre, 50-member choral group the Colburn Children's Choir and Young Men's Ensemble, and the Pacifico Dance Company.

New performers include the contemporary dance company BODYTRAFFIC, the Korean-American indie folk-rock band Run River North, MoForro and Mostly Kosher.

At 4 p.m., a Christmas Eve Family Mass will be held at the Cathedral of Our Lady of the Angels.

A Midnight Mass will also be held.
