2 Injured After Car Slams Into Home In La Puente

LA PUENTE (CBSLA.com) — A car has crashed into a home in La Puente, sheriff's deputies said Wednesday.

Officials responded shortly after 2 a.m. to a home located at Duff and Temple avenues for report of a car that had crashed into a home.

Upon their arrival, authorities located a gaping hole leading into one of the bedrooms.

Two children were sleeping in their room when the crash took place. They were treated for minor injuries.

The driver fled from the scene on foot.

The totaled Mercedes has paper plates. At this time, it remains unclear if the vehicle belonged to the driver or was stolen.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
