LA Marathon To Feature 2nd-Longest Field Ever

LOS ANGELES (AP) — The Los Angeles Marathon has sold out for the third straight year, with over 26,000 runners from all 50 states and over 55 countries registered for the March 15 race.

Marathon officials said Monday that those numbers represent the second-largest LA Marathon field ever. Among the runners are 178 people who have competed in every race since the event began in 1986.

The field includes 90 elite runners, including 73 Americans who will compete for the USA Track & Field Marathon Championships title within the race. The course begins at Dodger Stadium and finishes near the Santa Monica Pier.
