LA Marathon draws thousands to the 'Stadium to the Stars' course

Kenya's Dominic Ngeno and Stacy Ndiwa became the first runners to cross the finish line at the 2024 Los Angeles Marathon on Sunday.

Ngeno completed the 26-mile, 385-yard course in a time of 2:11:00, while Ndiwa crossed the finish line at 2:25:28.97. For Ndiwa, this was her second consecutive women's title.

The race's "Stadium to the Stars" course drew more than 25,000 people with runners starting at Dodger Stadium and ending on Santa Monica Boulevard between Avenue of the Stars and Century Park East. The course took runners through downtown Los Angeles, Echo Park, Hollywood, West Hollywood, Beverly Hills, Century City, Westwood and Brentwood then back through Westwood to Century City, with the finish line on the westside.

The 26-mile, 385-yard race also included 95 legacy runners who have run all 38 previous editions of the race. Golden Stars have been placed along the course in their honor.

Authorities say 12 patients have been treated for various injuries, 7 of which required transport to hospitals for further medical treatment.

Numerous streets in and around the route remain closed. Click here to access the complete list of closures.
