LA Marathon 2015 Street Closures And New Start Time

LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — More than 26,000 runners will take to the streets for the Los Angeles Marathon this Sunday, moving from Dodgers Stadium and ending near the Santa Monica Pier.

Runners planning their trip to the starting line and commuters hoping to avoid a traffic slowdown will want to note the following road closures and alternate bus routes. Major thoroughfares in Los Angeles, West Hollywood, Beverly Hills and Santa Monica will be affected.

They should also be aware the 26.2-mile race has been moved earlier, starting at 6:55 a.m., because of the record-breaking heat expected over the weekend.
