LA Kings' Slava Voynov Ordered To Stand Trial In Domestic Violence Case
LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — Los Angeles Kings defenseman Slava Voynov was ordered Monday to stand trial in a domestic violence case.
Superior Court Judge Hector M. Guzman made the announcement just before 12 p.m. at a preliminary hearing.
Voynov pleaded not guilty Dec. 1 to one count of felony domestic violence after his wife was injured during an argument at their Redondo Beach home.
The 24-year-old was arrested Oct. 20 after his wife sought medical attention and was suspended indefinitely from the NHL.
The Kings organization was fined $100,000 on Dec. 2 for allowing Voynov to skate with the team.
An arraignment was scheduled for Dec. 29.
