LA Judge Rejects Polanski's Bid To Have 1977 Sex Case Dismissed

LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — A Los Angeles Superior Court judge Wednesday rejected Roman Polanski's bid to have his 1977 sex case dismissed.

The Oscar-winning movie director pleaded guilty to having unlawful intercourse with a 13-year-old girl but fled Los Angeles for France before sentencing.

Lawyers for the 81-year-old filed papers earlier this month alleging that district attorneys and judges carried out "serious misconduct" in an effort to prosecute Polanksi, the LA Times reported.

The motion is centered around an October attempt to arrest the director while he was at a museum in Warsaw, Poland.
