LA Elementary School Placed On Lockdown After Report Of Shots Fired

LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — A South Los Angeles elementary school was placed on lockdown Wednesday morning amid reports of shots fired, police said.

Officers received a call of shots fired at Harmony Elementary School at 899 East 2nd Place shortly around 8:10 a.m., according to a Los Angeles School Police Department official.

Shell casings were reportedly found across from the school's campus, but the shooting was not aimed towards the school, police said.

No injuries had been reported.

The school resumed normal operations around 9 a.m., officials said.
