LA Couple Charged In Hit-And-Run Death Of Judge's Son

LOS ANGELES (AP) — A Los Angeles couple has been charged with a hit-and-run accident that killed the son of a federal judge.

Prosecutors say 66-year-old Marguerite Dao Vuong was charged Thursday with leaving the scene of an accident resulting in death and her husband, Michael Vuong, was charged with being an accessory.

She could face four years in state prison and her husband could get three years if convicted.

Prosecutors say the woman was behind the wheel of a car that ran down 23-year-old David Pregerson in the Pacific Palisades area of Los Angeles last year, two days after Christmas.

Pregerson died four days later. His father is U.S. District Judge Dean D. Pregerson.

The Associated Press reached someone at a Vuong phone number but they couldn't be interviewed because of static.
