LA County Sheriff's deputies search for alleged shooting suspects after pursuit in Artesia

A search is still underway in an Artesia neighborhood after several suspects ran off after a police pursuit.

The Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department said the pursuit began after an alleged shooting in Norwalk near Pioneer Boulevard and the 91 Freeway around 1:13 a.m.  

Deputies said they saw a vehicle leaving the area after hearing about 10 shots fired, and that's when they activated their sirens.

The suspects ended up driving into a ditch in Artesia. Four suspects were seen fleeing the scene on foot before one of them was taken into custody.

Deputies are still investigating what led up to the shooting.
