LA City Animal Shelters To Offer Free Kitten Adoptions In Celebration Of National Cat Day

LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — Animal lovers will be able to adopt a kitten or a cat starting this Saturday for free from any of the six city shelters in Los Angeles.

On Saturday, LA Animal Shelters says adoption fees for all kittens and cats are being paid for by a grant from the ASPCA, also known as the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals.

The adoptions will be free until the grant funds are exhausted, LA Animal Services also indicated in a news release.

Normally, adoption fees for city residents are $76 for cats, and include vaccinations, sterilization, and micro-chips, LA Animal Services indicates in a recorded message.

The event comes in celebration of National Cat Day, which was created to help bring awareness to the number of orphaned kittens and cats.
