KNX Spotlight: Superbugs

(KNX 1070) — "Superbugs": how do you get them? How can you avoid them?

"KNX Spotlight: Superbugs", hosted by KNX anchor Diane Thompson and investigative reporter Charles Feldman, will take a look at the emergence of antibiotic-resistant bacteria in the U.S. and worldwide.

Two people who recently had procedures at UCLA Ronald Reagan Medical Center are dead and others are infected with a dangerous Superbug. It's happened at other hospitals, too - but that's not the only place you'll find these microbes that cannot be killed by antibiotics.

You can get them in a nursing home, at the gym or even by participating in some contact sports like wrestling. And there is no cure!

The show will feature a panel of experts answering calls and tweets from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Thursday.
