KNX 1070 To Present Town Hall Event On Ebola

(KNX 1070) – KNX 1070 NEWSRADIO will assemble a panel of diverse experts on the front lines of the worldwide Ebola crisis to answer the public's questions in a special town hall broadcast entitled "Ebola Uncovered" on Thursday, November 6 from 3:00 – 4:00 pm (PST).

"Ebola Uncovered" will be co-hosted by KNX news anchor Tom Haule and investigative reporter Charles Feldman, who is co-producing the special with Laraine Herman. Reporter Margaret Carrero will contribute to the program which will also stream live on cbsLA.com.

Listeners will have the opportunity to ask questions on the radio by calling 866-569-1070 or through Twitter using #knxebola.

Guests on the panel will include a doctor who is an infectious disease specialist from UCLA, a sociologist from UC Irvine and a local doctor who recently treated Ebola patients in Liberia.

Among the topics to be discussed are whether the standards are strict enough for gauging if a person is at risk of having Ebola, the status of a vaccine, medical and government response on a national level and how well Southern California is prepared should Ebola turn up here.

"We'll evaluate how likely Ebola is to come to L.A. and try to figure out how and when it will be contained," said Feldman. "We'll also look at some of the legal, sociological and moral implications that have been manifested by a recent scare on a bus at Union Station and the treatment of a nurse who had contact with an Ebola patient but never showed any symptoms."
