Kings Sign Goaltender Peter Budaj To 1-Year Contract

LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — The Los Angeles Kings have signed goaltender Peter Budaj to a one-year contract, Kings General Manager Don Lombardi announced on Friday.

Budaj appeared in 19 regular season games last season with St. Johns of the American Hockey League, going 0-9-6 with a .888 save percentage.

The 30-year-old hails from Banska Bystrica, Slovakia.

He has previously played for the Colorado Avalanche and the Montreal Canadiens.

Budaj has also been a member of the Slovakian national team since 2000.

The team is now carrying three goaltenders, starter Jonathan Quick, backup Jhonas Enroth, and Budaj.
