Kids Molested By Antelope Soccer Coach Sue AYSO

TORRANCE (CBSLA.com) — Attorneys for kids who were molested by an Antelope Valley coach are suing the American Youth Soccer Organization.

The lawsuit, filed on behalf of four unnamed plaintiffs, alleges AYSO was warned that the coach, Renoir Valenti, was dangerous.

"Youth-serving institutions have to be vigilant when it comes to the protection of children from predators," said Irwin Zalkin, one of the plaintiffs' attorneys.

Valenti was sentenced to more than 130 years in prison after being found guilty of molesting 15 children.

Lawyers for the families said the abuse often happened at Valenti's home, where he hosted parties for kids. The lawsuit, which is asking for an unspecified amount in damages, also claims Valenti tried to register kids into AYSO by signing their forms as their children's parents.

AYSO declined to comment on the lawsuit over the phone and in person at the organization's headquarters in Torrance.
