Kidnap Suspect Chased By LAPD In Van Nuys

VAN NUYS (CBSLA.com)  —   Authorities chased a kidnapping suspect in Van Nuys.

It was unclear if he had a  victim in his possession.

Police only described the suspect as an "adult male."

At one point during the pursuit, a female reportedly got out of the vehicle. Police are interviewing the woman.

CBS2's Stu Mundel said the chase had been peculiar in that it had mostly been "rather slow."

At times, the driver in a white vehicle would speed up but for the most part he obeyed traffic rules and lights.

The driver was boxed in outside an In N Out Burger on Van Nuys Boulevard. Officers got out of their cars with guns drawn.

It appeared the police shot out windows with a beanbag.

The suspect was taken into custody without further incident.
