Kershaw Gets Hit In Face By Soft Liner Off Oakland's Parrino

MESA, Ariz. (CBSLA.com/AP) — Dodgers ace Clayton Kershaw was hit in the face by a soft liner off the bat of Oakland's Andy Parrino in the bottom of the third inning, but the NL MVP and Cy Young Award winner remained in the game.

Kershaw turned his head before being hit Friday. He slumped to his knees for a few seconds while teammates and trainers rushed to help.

After being examined for several minutes, Kershaw stayed in the game. He got the next batter, Coco Crisp, on a lineout to second base then gave up an RBI single to Craig Gentry.

As for the other starter, Hyun-Jin Ryu will have to miss at least one more spring start with tightness in his left shoulder.

Reports indicate that Ryu will start the season on the disabled list.
