LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — Giants pitcher and reigning World Series MVP Madison Bumgarner tops the list of jersey sales in Major League Baseball at the halfway point of the season.
Rookie third basemen Kris Bryant of the Chicago Cubs ranks second, followed by Giants catcher Buster Posey at third.
Bryant earned the highest ranking for a rookie since these results started to become public in 2010, breaking the 2013 season record held by Yasiel Puig.
Puig was third in the entire MLB in jersey sales during the second half of his rookie year in 2013.
Dodgers pitcher and reigning NL MVP Clayton Kershaw is fourth in all of jersey sales in the MLB during the first half of the 2015 season.
The rest of the top 10 features a wide variety of players, starting with NL MVP candidate Bryce Harper ranking fifth.
Hunter Pence of the Giants ranks sixth and Mike Trout of the Angels ranks seventh.
Matt Harvey of the Mets ranks eighth, David Ortiz of the Red Sox ranks ninth, and Anthony Rizzo of the Cubs ranks 10th.
This was also the first season in which a player from the New York Yankees did not rank in the top 20 best selling jerseys at the halfway point.
