Justin Bieber Charged With Dangerous Driving, Assault After Incident In Canada

LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — Singer Justin Bieber was charged with dangerous driving and assault after being arrested in Canada last week, officials said Tuesday.

A collision between a minivan and an All Terrain Vehicle (ATV) was reported just before 3 p.m. on Aug. 29 in Ontario, according to the Perth County Ontario Provincial Police Department.

The driver of the ATV and an occupant of the van allegedly then engaged in a physical altercation, authorities said. Bieber was taken into custody and released on a "promise to appear".

He is scheduled to return to court Sept. 29.
