Jurupa Valley Homes Evacuated When Car Crash Severs Gas Line

JURUPA VALLEY (CBSLA.com) — Four homes in Jurupa Valley were evacuated Saturday when a car crash severed a gas line.

A 20-year-old driver lost control of his vehicle around 5:30 p.m. and plowed into a home in the 4000 block of Fairbanks Avenue, Riverside County Sheriff's deputies said.

Deputies says the driver didn't appear to be under the influence.

A gas line was severed, prompting deputies to evacuate the damaged home and three other residences.

No one was injured. Damage to the home and the vehicle were minor.

Jurupa Road between Valley Way and Mission Boulevard was closed while utility workers repaired the gas line.
