Josh Rubenstein's Weather Forecast (Sept. 22)

STUDIO CITY (CBSLA.com) — Fall begins at 7:29 p.m. Monday! The autumnal equinox will occur, however it won't feel a whole lot like fall for the beginning of this work week.

There's a ridge of high pressure to the east of Los Angeles that will keep us above average for the next 72 hours. Temperatures will pop into the mid to upper 90s for the valleys. In the basin it will be the mid 80s.

Coastal communities will actually still be in pretty good shape, because there are some patchy low clouds to keep things moderated.

By the end of the week a deep trough moves into the west coast. There really is not moisture associated with this system so don't expect any rain; however, by Friday and Saturday, the marine layer kicks in with the stronger on-shore flow.

The trough will continue to trek east so by Sunday it will be warmer. The long range models are hinting at an inside slider pattern into the next work week.
