Josh Rubenstein's Weather Forecast (July 5)

LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) We are looking at a warm weekend with a large ridge of high pressure over the 4 corner states.

This will translate into some warm temperatures Saturday.

Look for highs in the upper 90s to 100 for the Valleys. As the air rotates around that high pressure clockwise moisture is being ushered into the area. That means it will feel humid, but more importantly there is the threat of afternoon thunderstorms.

The thunderstorm threat is mainly for the high desert and our mountains. We did see a couple of storms yesterday. This is a typical monsoon pattern.

The high should break up a bit next week and we will see some minor cooling. However, if you live in a t-storm threatened area, be on the ready for lightning and possible flooding this afternoon.
