Josh Rubenstein's Weather Forecast (July 31)

STUDIO CITY (KCAL9) — Well it's another warm and muggy day Thursday for Southern California.

In fact for inland valleys it might even be a degree warmer than Wednesday. We are still being dominated by a ridge of high pressure, which is centered just to the east of California.

There's still some slight lift in the atmosphere so there's a very small threat of t-storms in the forecast for mountains and deserts. However, nothing has happened for the past couple of days, so it's looking like a pretty quite afternoon.

The same pattern remains into the weekend. Look for warm temperatures and a slight t-storm chance. There will be a few patchy low clouds at the beach in the morning hours. However, Sunday and Monday there will be more lift in the atmosphere to warrant a better chance for a t-storm.  There isn't a tone of moisture, but the good lift will make it possible.

The t-storm threat could even sneak into the basin, but right now the forecast models are leaning towards the eastern portions of the viewing area.
