Josh Rubenstein's Weather Forecast (Jan. 26)

STUDIO CITY (CBSLA.com) — The two storms are still are on track for Wednesday afternoon, there are just some minor changes in timing and totals.

Expect to see a little bit more rain from the first round overnight Wednesday, which should be closer to .50 inches in the flat lands.  The rain should hit between midnight and 4 a.m. and could linger into the early commute mainly to the east.

Then right on the heals of the first system, the second front moves through overnight Thursday.  Again, the heaviest rain will fall before sunrise; however this time, the steady rain with heavy downpours will continue into the morning and mid-day of Friday.

In fact several bands of showers will continue to rotate through the area through Saturday evening.  There is good lift in the atmosphere so be on the look out for thunderstorms.

Recent burn areas have a very good chance for some debris flow and flash flooding.  Totals for rainfall in the ball park of 1 to 3 inches in the Los Angeles Metro Area, with up to 6 inches in higher elevations.  Snow will be confined to the higher elevations, but there will be a lot of it.
