Josh Rubenstein's Weather Forecast (Dec. 8)

STUDIO CITY (KCAL9) — Another week...another storm.

The start of this work week will be fairly mellow. Look for a slight off-shore flow and warmer temperatures with highs in the mid to upper 70s Monday.

While temps might decrease a degree or two over the next couple of days, don't expect much in the way of variety.

However, by Thursday everything changes. There will be a stronger on-shore flow ahead of a trough and cold front that will be moving through. While the forecast models vary on the timing of this system, they are all pretty close within about five hours of each other.

Expect to see a good hit of rain early Friday morning (before sunrise to right after sunrise). While it will be relatively short compared to the last system, there will be a good punch.

Rainfall estimates are in the ballpark of one to three in the valleys and basin and three to five inches in the higher elevations.

Snow levels will drop down to resort levels as well (probably 6,000 feet). Just get ready for a more typical winter system for the end of the week.
