Josh Rubenstein's Weather Forecast (Aug. 19)

STUDIO CITY (KCAL9) — As promised, some cooler weather is upon us. An upper level approaching from the north has helped to thicken the marine layer up Tuesday morning.

The cloud deck is running at about 2,400 feet deep.  That's enough to make it into our coastal valleys.

There will be some clearing later on; however, it appears a small wave of energy rotating around the system will give us the slight chance for a t-storm Tuesday afternoon.

By Wednesday morning, the low is overhead. Expect the marine layer once again; however, there is the slight chance that the low could scour out the marine layer. There is enough moisture and lift with the system to warrant the chance at a scattered shower or thunderstorm early Wednesday as well.

The low will move out by Thursday and there will be a slight warm up. There is a big trough lingering in the Pacific Northwest, and that is going to encourage on-shore flow meaning expect the "clouds in the morning, sunshine in the evening" pattern. Aside from the t-storm threat, enjoy the break from the heat.
