Johnny Depp Plays The Role Of Donald Trump In An Online Mock Documenatry

LOS ANGELES (AP/CBSLA.com) - One day after GOP candidate Donald Trump finished in first place in the New Hampshire primaries, Hollywood actor Johnny Depp decided to take it upon himself and release a mock online documentary with himself playing the role of the outspoken candidate Trump.

"Funny or Die Presents Donald Trump's The Art of the Deal: The Movie" was released Tuesday on the Funny or Die site with narration by Ron Howard, music by Kenny Loggins and co-starring Jack McBrayer, Patton Oswalt, Stephen Merchant, Alfred Molina, Henry Winkler and Andy Richter.

Trump's best-selling advice book helped in giving this 50-minute online film its title.  This film pretends to be a TV special that Trump tossed away when it got pre-empted by a football game.

The film takes direct shots at Trump, insisting that he is maniac and a buffoon. It was written by Joe Randazzo, a former editor of The Onion, while Jeremy Konner, a creator of the television series "Drunk History," directed the spoof.

It was produced -- and kept a secret -- by Adam McKay, a co-founder of Funny or Die, which also counts Will Ferrell and Judd Apatow as principal partners.
