JetBlue Looking To Train Aspiring Pilots; No Experience Necessary

LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — JetBlue is looking for aspiring pilots, but no experience is necessary.

The carrier is launching Gateway Select, a new training program, and is looking to fill 24 slots.

The rigorous, four-year course will cost about $125,000. Those who succeed in the program will be hired as a JetBlue first officer, the airline says.

JetBlue stresses that the program isn't replacing their traditional pipeline for pilots.

They reportedly hired 300 pilots last year and 30 new hires started training last week.

The program is the first-of-its-kind for a large U.S. airline.
