Janice Hahn Announces Run For LA County Supervisor

SAN PEDRO (CBSLA.com) —  Just three years after successfully running for Congress, Democatric Rep. Janice Hahn Wednesday announced her candidacy for the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors.

Hahn plans to run for the District 4 seat in the June 2016 primary election and cited problems in Washington as her reason for returning to local politics.

"Washington is broken, it's increasingly mired in political gridlock, and there's virtually zero cooperation between the two parties. That's not the kind of government I grew up with, and it's precisely why I know I can do more for the Los Angeles region on the Board of Supervisors," she said.

Hahn added, "As a form of government that's naturally nonpartisan, I find local government more workable. It's just easier to build consensus and get things done because there's no real partisan bickering."

Hahn plans to serve the rest of her term in the House of Representatives serving the constituents of the 44th district.

State Senator Isdore Hall Wednesday announced her plans to run for Hahn's seat with the congresswoman's backing.
