The hashtags #ItsJustACup along with #AreYouSerious surfaced this week and had followers disagreeing with those who claimed the coffee giant's red cups weren't festive enough.

Last week, the coffee giant unveiled its holiday cup, which was a noticeable change from years past due to a lack of holiday symbols like ornaments and snowflakes.
Some even called the plain red cups part of a "War on Christmas" and the hashtag #MerryChristmasStarbucks emerged.
