'It's My Hair, I Swear' Insists Trump In Responding To LA Radio Show Host's Nickname

LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — "It's my hair, I swear," said Republican presidential frontrunner Donald Trump on Thursday in responding to a local radio show host who criticized his hair.

At a rally Thursday in Greenville, South Carolina, Trump slammed an article which mentions a Latino radio personality who's known as "El Mandril."

"El Mandril" broadcasts out of Los Angeles and has been referring to Trump as "the man of the toupee."

"I don't wear a toupee. It's my hair, I swear," said Trump before inviting an audience member to the stage to confirm his hair is the real deal.

After tugging on it, the woman said: "I believe it is."

"Yes, we make fun of Donald Trump especially his hair," said Carlos Alvarez, another Los Angeles radio personality.

Alvarez says he makes jokes about Trump's hair too, but he adds: the Trump candidacy for president and the issues facing the Latino community are no laughing matter.

Alvarez says his listeners overwhelmingly reject Trump, but the Republican candidate offers a different assessment of Latino voters.

"And they love me and by the way, I think I'm gonna win the Mexican vote," Trump said.
