Is the Hahn Camp Behind All The Missing Napolitano Campaign Signs?

SAN PEDRO (CBSLA.com) — A video shows a nicely dressed woman getting out of her white Toyota Prius at the corner of 24th Street and Walker Avenue in San Pedro. She gives a quick scan of the neighborhood snaps up a Steve Napolitano campaign sign, carries it off to her car and casually drives away.

The video was posted on a Facebook page called Saving San Pedro.

Kevin Wen, campaign manager for Napolitano,  said people are speculating who's behind the theft, but he can't jump on that bandwagon.

"We can't confirm anything, unless we confirm a license plate, etc., there is no evidence, unfortunately," Wen said.

However, in a news release earlier Monday, the Napolitano camp hinted that Janice Hahn's campaign may be behind the shady behavior.

"It appears to be a coordinated pattern of thefts and vandalism. This is a disturbing trend from the Hahn campaign and it appears to be continuing into the general election."

Meantime, the Hahn camp strongly denies the woman in the video has anything to do with her campaign.

"The woman depicted in the video does not work for Janice Hahn," a spokesperson for the Hahn campaign said. "We strongly condemn any action that prevents voters from expressing their political views or preferences."
