Investigators searching for gunman who shot and killed man in El Monte

Authorities are searching for the gunman who allegedly shot and killed a man in El Monte on Monday night. 

It happened at around 9:30 p.m. in the 2300 block of Peck Road, according to deputies with the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department. 

Officers arrived and found the victim, who has not yet been identified, suffering from a gunshot wound. He was taken to a nearby hospital where he later died, LASD said. 

Investigators have not provided further details on a suspect or motive int he incident. 

LASD is assisting the El Monte Police Department with the investigation.
