Investigators Probe Deaths Of Couple Found In Yucaipa Apartment

YUCAIPA (CBSLA.com)  —  Authorities are investigating the deaths of a couple found inside a Yucaipa apartment Thursday.

Officials said a  friend of one of the victim's showed up at her apartment just after 7:15 p.m. concerned because she didn't show up for work or return any of her colleague's phone calls.

A friend and apartment manager entered 45-year-old Tammy Theresa Chilton's apartment, and found her and boyfriend William Robert Martinez, 52, of Huntington Beach, both unresponsive.

They called 911 and deputies, along with medical aid responded to the apartment located in the 12300 block of 3rd Street. Both victims were pronounced dead at the scene.

Due to the suspicious nature of the deaths, San Bernardino Sheriff's Homicide Investigators are investigating. Today in a tweet, sheriff's referred to the deaths as murders.

Autopsies will be conducted to determine the exact cause of death.
