Investigators Look For Witnesses Of Fatal Crash Involving Pedestrian Hit By Motorcycle In Redondo Beach

REDONDO BEACH (CBSLA.com)  —  Investigators are looking for witnesses of a fatal crash involving a pedestrian and motorcyclist in Redondo Beach Thursday.

The victim, a male, was pronounced dead at the scene. The accident happened about 5 a.m. in the 600 block of Torrance Boulevard, Redondo Beach police
Sgt. Shawn Freeman said.

The victim's name is being withheld pending notification of kin.

The motorcyclist remained on scene and was interviewed by police.

According to a preliminary investigation, the pedestrian stepped off the center median that was not marked into the left lane of eastbound traffic on Torrance Boulevard and was struck by the bike rider, Freeman said.

"The motorcyclist did not suffer any injuries, and alcohol/drugs is not considered to be a factor in this accident," Freeman said.
