Investigation Continues After Injured Man Claims He Was Run Over By Vehicle In Santa Monica

SANTA MONICA (CBSLA.com) — Los Angeles County Fire officials Monday confirmed tire tracks found near an injured man on the beach in Santa Monica were not made by one of their vehicles.

Lifeguards located the unidentified man on the beach just north of the Santa Monica Pier around 6:30 a.m. Sunday.

Police were trying to determine if he was run over in the sand where he was found or somewhere else and then brought to the beach.

A mold of nearby tire tracks were made to help investigators.

The incident occurred less than a week after a woman sunbathing on Venice Beach was hit by an LA County lifeguard vehicle.

In May, a woman was laying face down in the sand when a sanitation truck, which was clearing debris, ran over her.
