Inmate Mistakenly Released From LA Jail Recaptured In Nevada

LOS ANGELES (AP) — The Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department says a murder suspect mistakenly released from jail last month has been captured in Nevada.

The department says detectives learned Monday that Steven Lawrence Wright might be hiding in a Boulder City hotel and requested assistance from the FBI and local police departments.

Wright was taken into custody without incident.

Wright was awaiting trial in a gang killing when he was released from jail due to clerical errors.

A Sheriff's Department statement says no additional charges will be filed against Wright, who will be held in Nevada pending an extradition hearing.
