Injured Worker Rescued From Carson Refinery Tower

CARSON (CBSLA.com) — It took an Urban Search and Rescue team to get an injured worker down from a refinery tower in Carson, authorities said Wednesday.

Los Angeles County firefighters were summoned at 10:12 p.m. Tuesday to the refinery in the 22600 block of South Wilmington Avenue, dispatch Supervisor Miguel Ornelas said.

The team got the man off the tower just before midnight and he was taken to a hospital for treatment, Ornelas said. The nature of the man's injury was not known.
