Boy, 3, Dies After Being Found In Hot Car In Sylmar

SYLMAR (CBSLA.com)   —  Authorities said a 3-year-old boy died after being found in a hot car located in the 14400 block of Foothill Blvd. in Sylmar.

Los Angeles Police told CBS2 and KCAL9 that the boy was playing in his yard when he somehow gained access to the car. The child also locked himself inside the vehicle, officials said.

The incident was reported around 3:30 p.m. Wednesday.

It was unclear how long the boy was inside the vehicle.

The child was transported to a nearby hospital where he was reported dead.

Detectives were on scene conducting interviews, Stu Mundel reported in Sky 9.
