Indio Boy, 10, Injured After Truck Hits Home 3 Times

INDIO  (AP) — Authorities say a 10-year-old boy suffered major injuries after a driver slammed his pickup truck into an Indio home several times.

Indio police Sgt. Dan Marshall said a man involved in a domestic disturbance Sunday fled a home, got into the truck and crashed into a house several doors away.

The vehicle struck the boy, then backed up before hitting the house again, causing minor injuries to a man who was in the house.

The truck backed up a third time and struck the garage. Marshall said neighbors subdued the driver until police arrived.

The driver was taken into custody after police determined he had a warrant for his arrest.

The boy and man were taken to the hospital. Marshall said their injuries were not life threatening.
