Incredible Rescue Reported In Chatsworth After Car Plunges 70 Feet Down Embankment

CHATSWORTH (CBSLA.com)   —   Authorities pulled off an incredible rescue effort Saturday evening after a car plunged down an embankment in Chatsworth.

Officials said the car landed on its side after plunging more than 70 feet.

The accident happened at Woolsey Canyon Road and Valley Circle.

Officials said it was amazing that three people in the car made it out alive.All three were taken to a nearby hospital for observation.

The three injuries were later described as one moderate, two minor.

A fourth person was trapped in the vehicle and had to be extricated and hoisted out by helicopter. That's person's condition is unknown. On scene the victim's injuries were described as moderate.

The cause of the crash is under investigation, authorities said.
