Improvements To Burbank's Bob Hope Airport Rest In Voters Hands

BURBANK (CBSLA.com ) — The future of Burbank's Bob Hope Airport is on the November ballot.

If Measure B passes, voters would approve plans to for a 14-gate replacement terminal.

Improvements include more seating and amenities, more food options and the baggage carousel would be moved inside. The terminal would also be in a safer spot by being set back  the length of two football fields from the runway.

"We're going from a 14-gate terminal to a 14-gate terminal," Measure B supporter Linda Walmsley said. " It's not going to be more, it's going to be better."

Longtime councilman David Gordon says the improvement could make way for Burbank to a become a mini LAX.

"If we don't have plans in place to offset the impact of noise, traffic, over congestion, then we're going to have a problem."

CBS2's Kristine Lazar takes a further look at the measure.
