HUNTINGTON BEACH (CBSLA.com) — The Huntington Beach Police Department is using Facebook to help nab a bike theft suspect.

"Help us catch this bike thief!!" they wrote in the post."Please share to catch this thief," they wrote in another.

The bicycle -- valued at about $1,800 -- was stolen at 7 a.m. Sunday next to Longboard Restaurant and Pub.

They described the suspect as a white male, about 6 feet tall with dark hair and a receding hairline. The suspect is clean shaven with a thin build.

In the photo, the suspect appears to be in a black nylon jacket (possibly with a fur collar). He was wearing dark blue or gray jeans and black boots.

Police said the man had bolt cutters concealed in his jacket.

The suspect fled toward the west alley near Main Street.

Some posters believe that a patch on the suspect's jacket suggests he might be a guard of some kind.
