Hundreds Arrested At Devore Music Festival

DEVORE (CBSLA.com) — More than 380 people were arrested in Devore at the Nocturnal Wonderland Festival this weekend, police said.

The electronic music festival kicked off Friday and wrapped up Sunday.

Most of the arrests were made during searches outside the venue, which is south of the Interstate 15 and 215 interchange.

Some party-goers were asked if they were carrying any drugs, and given a chance to confess.  They were allowed to put any contraband in an "amnesty box" and go in and enjoy the festival, police said.

If anyone got caught after the fact, police moved in to make an arrest.

"Any type of real raver is going there because you enjoy the music," concertgoer Reme Hamad said. "You enjoy the artists that are coming to perform for you. Drugs are just an ad-on for some people."

County supervisors addressed local homeowner concerns by limiting neighborhood access. The venue stage was also moved to direct noise away from local homes.
